The purpose of
many governmental organizations is to provide
legal representation to death row inmates.
However, in reality, not all inmates are provided
counsel due to insufficient funds, staff, and/or
attorneys. Furthermore, if an inmate does not
have legal representation, it is virtually
impossible for him or her to reach out to someone
in order to find an attorney. Thus, the Death
Penalty Legal Representation Project was
established to provide legal representation to
those individuals who are innocent; to those
inmates not represented by counsel; and/or to
those individuals for whom the legal system has
unquestionably failed. This Innocence Project
will also provide a readily available means for
death row inmates, concerned family and friends,
and others to locate an attorney and other
resources.
This international and national Project is
only concerned with direct appeal and
post-conviction cases.
